About the Weekend

Experience a 3-day trip in Athens downtown and Athens Riviera at a leisurely pace, allowing us to explore the city's beautiful neighborhoods and landmarks while embracing the principles of slow living. We'll take relaxing walks and immerse ourselves in the local culture, learning the stories behind each place we visit.

We travel along the Athenian coast and become part of the seaside life.

The capital of Greece, Athens, is renowned for its rich history dating back to antiquity and its impressive monuments. The Acropolis of Athens, particularly the imposing Parthenon, an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Athena, after whom the city is named, is the city's most famous symbol. In Athens, the old and the new coexist harmoniously, creating a vibrant atmosphere for both locals and visitors. The city has remained in the same location with the same name for centuries.

The Athenian Riviera is located just 30 minutes from the center of Athens. It is a 70-kilometer coastline that starts from the port of Piraeus and reaches the Cape of Sounion. It serves as a natural extension of the city towards the sea and is a recreational area for the residents of Attica.

Cape Sounion and the impressive Temple of Poseidon are situated at the southern tip of Attica, offering a stunning view of the Aegean Sea. The area has been inhabited by humans since prehistoric times. The ancient Temple of Poseidon is strategically positioned and boasts a spectacular view. It is steeped in powerful ancient myths and heroism.

During our trip:

We will start our tour in the central and historic Syntagma Square, which is the center of the city. Then we will visit the National Garden, a beautiful and refreshing park, and see the impressive buildings. Finally, we will have dinner in a lovely and comfortable place with a view of the Acropolis.

A day trip takes us to the Athenian Riviera, passing by the sea and crossing beautiful beaches, picturesque harbors, and small settlements on the way to Cape Sounion.

We admire Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon, and we listen to the myth involving Athens, King Aegeus, and his son Theseus, as well as Crete King Minos and the myth of the Minotaur!

We will stop at the Municipality of Vouliagmeni to visit the small Vouliagmeni Lake, nestled among the surrounding rocks.

Afterwards, we will have dinner by the sea, where we can enjoy the sunset and share more stories.

We explore the old city of Athens, including the historic districts of Plaka and Monastiraki. During our visit, we stop by the Museum of Modern Greek Culture, which has reconstructed an entire neighborhood of Old Athens, specifically the lost district of Vrysaki.
